Dr. Sonja Sommer received her dental degree from the University of California, Los Angeles after completing her B.S. in Animal Physiology at UC Davis. She is a native of northern California growing up in Sonoma County. Dr. Sommer received recognition for projects and papers in public health and preventive dentistry while in dental school. Her focus in practice continues these philosophies. Often, Dr. Sommer provides presentations to schools in Livermore to promote dental health education. Dr. Sommer has provided dental care in the East Bay since 1993.

Livermore is home to Dr. Sommer and her family. She and her husband enjoy raising their two children in Livermore. Dr. Sommer’s interests are in traveling, cycling and hiking local trails, singing in choir and swimming. She has supported music and performing arts in Livermore through the Livermore Valley Education Fund and founding supporter of the Bankhead Theatre.

Dr. Sommer is a member of ADA, CDA, Southern Alameda County Dental Society and the American Dental Association Advisory Circle.

Our Staff of hygienists are very experienced. Our hygienists have been in the dental field for 10 years or more as dental assistants and hygienists. They have each worked in our office for over 10 years. They earned their degrees from San Joaquin Valley College and Chabot College. Our staff keeps up with the latest techniques and innovation, especially around periodontal disease, through regular continuing education. They are very personable and work to understand the needs of each patient.
